RCHS Basketball traveled to Rock Creek tonight. JV Boys and Girls picked up a win. C Boys, C Girls, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys all fall to the Mustangs. The Falcons will host Wabaunsee next Friday, tip-off at 4:30!
Members of the RCHS FFA traveled to Belleville today to compete in the Food Science, Discussion Meet,and Poultry competitions. Our RCHS Chapter hosted the event with the help of the K-State Poultry Unit!
Congratulations to the RCHS Student of the Month for January, Mikaila Frese! Mikaila, a freshman, has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and is a member of Science Club, FCA, Key Club, Culture Club, and Book Club. She also participates in cross country and track. Here is what Mrs.Taylor had to say: “Mikaila is the epitome of a good student. She is hard working, innately curious, and diligent about getting her requirements completed to the best of her ability. In addition to all those great traits, she also is friendly and outgoing. It’s a pleasure to have Mikaila in class.” Congratulations Mikaila!

Taryn, a senior, has a cumulative GPA of 3.9 and is a member of Art Club, Student Council, SADD, FCA, Pep Club, FCCLA, Key Club, NHS, and FFA. She also participates in basketball and softball. Here is what Ms. Meadows had to say: “Every time I see Taryn she is polite and has a smile on her face. She is kind and respectful to all peers, faculty, and staff. RCHS Wrestling competed today in the Manhattan JV tournament. Brad Owen placed 3rd in the 165lb class and Quinlin Sterling placed 4th in the 285lb class!

Sadie Lambert and Drew Shirley attained Platinum status on the ACT Works Keys Assessment. These assessments test students in Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents. The highest score possible is a 7, and both students scored a 6 or better on all three tests. The tests link what students learn in school with the knowledge and lifelong skills needed for success in college and careers. Congratulations Sadie and Drew!
The Food Service Department spent some time decorating cupcakes to serve with Friday's lunch to celebrate Kansas' Birthday this weekend. Happy 162nd Birthday, Kansas!
RCHS Wrestling lost to Beloit and beat Ellsworth in the double dual last night at Beloit!
Drew Shirley was recently awarded Honorable Mention in the annual Kansas Masonic Foundation essay contest. There were just four honorable mention recipients throughout the state. She also received a $500 award with this recognition. Congratulations Drew!

The RCHS Scholars Bowl Team took 3rd place today at the Mid-East League Tournament!
The RCHS Girls Basketball Team beat Republic County today and placed 7th in the Trojan Classic. The Boys Basketball Team took 6th place falling to Holcomb. The Falcons will be back in action next Friday at Wabaunsee!
The RCHS Wrestling Team competed in day 1 of the Beloit Tournament today. Wrestlers Cyrus England, Brogan Schuh, and Jackson Shanahan all advance to finals tomorrow!
