Congratulations Taryn, keep up the great work!
Here is what our staff had to say about Taryn.
Mrs. Steiner – “Taryn is a joy to be around. She is always willing to jump in and help when needed. She goes above and beyond what is expected more times than not. It’s been fun to watcher her grow confidence and mature the last two years. Taryn is a great asset to our school.”
Mrs. Kachelhoffer – “Taryn carries herself with class and shine. Her positive attitude and respectful demeanor make her a great role model and leader at our school. Athletically and academically, TShep puts her all into whatever she is doing. She never hesitates to help a teammate or classmate and after a conversation with her you are guaranteed to walk away with a smile on your face!”
Thank you to Danielle Troncin, youth prevention program facilitator, who presented to our students today on coping skills, social awareness, and cyberbullying.

Congratulations to our Students of the Month for February: Ashton Bartlett and Jace Ricketts!
Ashton, a Senior, has earned a current GPA of 4.0 and cumulative GPA of 3.76. He is involved in Culture Club, FFA, Key Club, Pep Club, SADD, and Student Council.
Jace, a Senior, has a current and cumulative GPA of 4.0. He is involved in Baseball and Football as well as Culture Club, FCCLA, FFA, Key Club, NHS, Pep Club, and SADD.
Here is what our staff had to say about these two great young men!
Mrs. Seyfried – “I've been lucky enough to teach Ashton all 4 years at Riley County and he has constantly impressed me. He is smart, caring and responsible but what makes him stand out is his selfless actions and his emotional maturity. He is always helping others just because they need help. He is great at communicating with peers and helping them understand class concepts. He also has a highly developed moral compass that most high schoolers don't have. He knows what is right and wrong, has defined it for himself, and doesn't let others sway him into things he knows he doesn't want to do. I love that he fits in with his peers and is a great classmate, but is independent enough to take care of himself and his work first. He works hard to make his life better, he doesn't get defeated when work is tough, he puts others' needs at the same level as his, and I have no doubt that Riley County High School will be missing something next year once he graduates.”
Ms. Hopson – “Ashton is an outstanding student and one of the most trustworthy people at this school. He came in as a Peer Tutor for me this semester and has been a tremendous help. He stepped right in and started helping students right away. The students love having Ashton in class as he keeps things entertaining while also serving as a role model for the sophomores. He is a natural leader and teacher and should definitely consider a career in education in the future. Ashton is incredibly patient with the students and genuinely wants to help. I truly enjoy having Ashton in my class and appreciate all of the assistance he has given thus far.”
Ms. Church – “Jace is very independent and has great goals for himself. He is caring, and has a big heart for helping people. He is creative and enjoys sharing his creativity with others. He is selfsufficient, knowledgeable, energetic, positive, and has a great sense of humor. I'm sure he could find reasons to complain, but his countenance is always cheerful and his words are always kind. I am so proud of all of his accomplishments.”
Mrs. Steiner – “Jace continues to impress me with his willingness to go above and beyond for our school. He is hard working and committed to whatever task he is doing. I don't hear Jace complain and if there is a problem, he is quick to find a solution. He is creative and uses this to positively impact the school!”
