Next week, March 6-10, is National School Breakfast Week sponsored by the School Nutrition Association. They celebrate this week each year to show the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. Each day, the School Breakfast Program serves more than 14 million students nationwide, providing them with an energizing start to their school day. Studies show that students who eat school breakfast are more likely to:
- be more alert
- score higher on standardized tests
- have better concentration/memory
- reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
- maintain a healthy weight
The theme for the week this year is ‘Dig In To School Breakfast’. USD 378 will be participating with some adventurous breakfast items.
