Graduation Requirements

The Board of Education of USD 378 makes every effort to maintain high standards of performance in the public schools while maintaining sensitivity to the individual needs, abilities, and interests of the students. The graduation requirements were developed as minimum standards for graduation in order to encourage maximum participation in the available options and to insure compliance with state regulations.


  • 4 units of English
  • 3 units of Mathematics
  • 3 units of Science, 1 unit must be a Laboratory Science course
  • 3 units of Social Studies which will include:
    • 1 unit of World History
    • 1 unit of American History
    • 1/2 unit of U. S. Government
    • 1/2 unit of a social studies elective
  • 1 unit of Computer Applications (class of 2013 and beyond)
  • 1 unit of Fine Art
  • 1 unit of Physical Education
  • 1 unit of reading credit
  • A minimum of 12 additional units from electives


The following credits are necessary to qualify students for the various classifications at the beginning of a school year:
  • Sophomore -  7 Units
  • Junior - 14 Units
  • Senior -  21 Units
